Top 5 Sites For African American Stock Images

Top 5 Sites For African American Stock Images

I love top-quality clip art and stock images. It just makes me feel like a graphic designer (I’m not.lol.) when I’m working with professional images for social media and blog posts.

However, to find free sites that feature an excellent quailty of African American clip art and stock images can be a hassle, so I’ve compiled a list of the top 5 sites to find black clip art and stock images to make it easy for you.

I’ve divided them into free and paid options.

FREE

  1. Pixabay  This site has really nice business images. The selection for African Americans pictures isn’t the best, but you can find a few images if you play around with the search terms. The best part about this site is most images are free for commercial use with no attribution required.
  2. Flickr –  To get the most out of Flickr, make sure you use The Advanced Search Option. Main options to the option to use the picture commercially, and take out the video options, and focus on the words being in the pictures tags. If you do that, you might can find some interesting pics to use.
  3. Open Clip- Art Clip art is cute. The Open Clip-Art site is an open source library that lets you choose as much clip art as you want to your heart’s content. I think it’s awesome. You can also use it to search for a plethora of black clip art.

PAID

  1. CreateHer Stock – I love, love, love this site! They have awesome images of women of color and #blackcreatives in a free gallery. For $7.00 per month, you can have access to more images and more variety instead of being limited to the free gallery. Granted, I think they can have more images of black men, but the site is a no-brainer for a black woman of color and creative since the majority of the images are catered towards women. The best thing about this site is, you can contribute images and suggest future images to make it better.
  2. BlackStock.Co – This site seems promising. I’ve glanced about the library, and they feature a lot of awesome images of black men. Because I use more black women in my work, it’s not the best site for me, but an awesome feature of this site is, you can browse the library before you purchase.

And there you have it, five cool options to find stock images for people of color.

What other sites do you like to use in order to find black images? Let us know.
